Hello :)
So, it's official; I SUCK at blogging.
But in my (rather poor) defence, I have been very busy with studying and earning dosh.
Moving on swiftly... This post will be predominantly dedicated to my first beauty product review! Since I began wearing make-up (probably around 13 years of age) I have forever been searching for the perfect foundation. My skin is:
1. Combination
2. Very sensitive
3. VERY pale
So finding a foundation has been a bit of a battle - too dark, too heavy, too drying. That was until I finally laid my hands on this bottle of wonder...
MAC Face and Body foundation
I was Umming and Ahhing about purchasing this for MONTHS. Unfortunately, I don't have a MAC counter at my local mall (which is probably a good thing for my bank account, haha) and I didn't want to part with £25.50 unless it was the right shade. So, after a day in London and a visit to MAC, I went and tested away and get matched up. I bought F&B in C1, which is the lightest of the C range. It matches my skin to a tee! The thing I love about this foundation is how sheer and lightweight it is. It doesn't feel like I'm wearing foundation and even better my skin LOOKS like my skin, only better. Although this won't cover all imperfections, it evens out my skin perfectly and gives a lovely, healthy glow. I'm relatively blemish free so this formula and finish is just perfect for me. BUT, F&B is buildable, so if you need slightly heavier coverage, you can layer this on problem areas without it looking cakey. Perfect!
The first thing I noticed about F&B is its very watery consistency, which I suppose is to be expected from such a sheer foundation, so you do need to be careful when extracting product from the bottle. It blends seamlessly, however, I get a better application using my fingers than a brush, a brush tends to leave it a little streaky and patchy in my opinion.
Overall, this foundation gets a 10/10 from me, I can't sing its praises enough. If a light coverage product, similar to a tinted moistruizer, is what you want, I really recommend this, very much worth the price tag!
Just a quick note on top of that - I absolutely LOVE make-up but am in no way claiming to be any sort of expert! I just like sharing my opinions, and my blog will include other products than just cosmetics :)
ALSO...
things that are making me smile :D
- the weather is starting to get a little warmer and a lot sunnier. I think it instantly brightens your mood when the sun is shining, and summer is definitely my FAVOURITE season :)
- University, strangely enough. My degree (in law) is going very well, and I'm a total law-nerd!
- recently, at the gym, I bumped into a friend who I used to be so close with. We spent two hours chatting away (whilst we should have been working out...) and are meeting up again soon. It's so lovely to catch up with old friends, especially when it feels like there's been no time between you at all :)
- I'm a brunette again! I love having my hair changed drastically, it makes me feel like a whole new person.
things that are making me frown -_-
- having no money and simultaneously seeing the most beautiful outfits, shoes and make up products ever. I'm being really good with saving at the moment, so shopping sprees are a no-go zone :(
- Petty women that have nothing better to do with their time than gossip. Especially when they're older than you! You'd think they'd be more mature but they never fail to disappoint.
- My phone - to anyone even thinking about considering getting a BlackBerry; DON'T. You WILL regret it.
Well, I hope you've all enjoyed reading my review and ramblings!
au revoir,
Kelly
